My Cerbo GX show the batteries discharging

My Cerbo GX battery tile shows the batteries discharging when being powered by a generator but not by solar but the voltage is increasing. The wattage and current are negative. The wiring is correct and I have already tried reversing the connections. What could be causing this problem?

Can you describe your system a bit better? How does the generator charge the batteries, through a MultiPlus, an AC charger or even directly DC? Where does the battery measurment come from, a Shunt or the BMS?

The system is a split phase MultiPlus II arrangement with two inverters managed through the Cerbo GX. The system runs and is displayed as expected when on solar or wind power. When I run the generator that is when the display readings don’t make sense. I did switch the wiring direction on the smartshunt but got the same readings. You can see the battery tile readings below. I am now looking at the Cerbo GX settings to see if there is some other conflict.

Thats odd. What kind of batteries are you using? Could the reading come from the BMS? Do you have a picture of the Shunt and how its wired?

The cerbo does not seem to have any information about the PV, are you using a Victron MPPT as well? Did you connect it to the cerbo as well in terms of coms?

I am using lead-acid batteries. The wire on the left is from the battery negative terminal. The two wires on their right are from the two MultiPlus Inverters. The current direction show as normal with these connections. Tried the other way around and had to use the inverted current setting in the VRM. Yes the Cerbo shows the solar information. I am using MidNite solar controllers and they are not connected to the Cerbo GX.

So that would be wrong, since the terminal on the right is marked “To Battery Minus”. Therefore the terminal on the left would be marked “To System Minus” which would be everything else like the MPs, the MPPT, the wind power generator and DC loads

But then you swapped it twice, which nets no difference. You only need to swap things once
