Mutliplus compact wont start

My system is Victron Multiplus compact charger/inverter 12/2000 80 installed 2018

There is no Bluetooth on this unit. Its has been working for 8 years no dip switchs have been changed

Its dead and wont switch on, the remote-control panel is also dead. I have confirmed both mains 230volts and 12volt are present.

I’ve checked 12volt past the internal fuse and its ok to that point.

I have tried turning it off 4 seconds then on again but it still dead.

I did disconnect the mains yesterday with the aircon running could this have caused this?

Description of failure: unit wont switch on, I tried resetting power off 4 seconds power on, when toggling the main switch led lights flicker for a second then go out, the remote controller seems dead

I carried out the following steps to reset and test the unit:

  • Removed all solar power input.
  • Removed the positive 12‑volt feed from the battery.
  • Confirmed there was 0 volts across the 12‑volt input terminals, then removed both the negative and positive wires.
  • The 240‑volt input and output wires had already been removed. These were temporarily connected together to provide mains power to the motorhome
  • Unplugged the data cable.
  • Waited 2 minutes.

After this:

  • Reattached the 12‑volt feed and reconnected it to the battery. Voltage measured 13.9 volts across the negative and positive terminals.
  • Toggled the switch next to the LED, but the unit did not start. No LEDs illuminated at all.
  • Reconnected the data cable and tested again. This made no difference.

Fault Summary: The unit does not power up and shows no LED activity despite a confirmed 13.9‑volt supply and a full reset procedure.

My Desired solution: is an out of warranty repair possible

Do you have a PC with an MK2/MK3 interface to connect to the MP? Then maybe you could see if it is alive enough to talk to the computer and give you some idea of what went wrong in the logs.

Worst case, it is probably repairable.

no I dont have have any way off comunicating with the unit, I have requested a “out off warranty repair”, but Im still waiting for the reply,

Im asuming its to do with a power board? but looking inside theres nothing obvious to me other than the big fuse at bottom which seems ok.

1 thing I did notice was that the temperature sensor was not connected ( Im told it should be on the negitive post? ) and have yet had time to correct that. But it must have been like that since I had litium installed 14 months ago or longer if it was like it before

thanks for your input
