Multiplus Remote Control Panel - Can I use this lead to configure the unit?

I have the Multiplus Compact installed in my campervan. I cant get to the VE bus sockets without removing the unit from where its mounted which is a pain to do as the front panel screws are hidden.

I have the remote control panel fitted and would like to use this cable to access the settings to turn off the charger. But the unit will only turn on with this panel and the switches on the front are dead. I assume its because the dip switches have to be set to use this panel.

Any way around this other than removing the unit and using another cable?

Assuming the panel you are referring to is the DMC and it uses the patch cable running to the inverter, you can use it to program the unit.

Trouble is that when I disconnect the cable, the Multiplus qont turn on by the switch on the unit. I think the dip switch has to be set for the DMC to work. I dont know if it will cause damage if I turn on the Multiplus with the DMC first the disconnect the cable to then connect to my laptop via the usb interface dongle

Something else is not right then.

In the install manual. Nothing is mentioned about dip switches.

In a remote firmware update it is one of the things that must be unplugged.
So it should work withoutbit plugged in

This is where I found the information regarding the DIP switch - it is a Multiplus Compact section 5.5.

Manual

I have contacted the installer who will have a look at it next week and hopefully explain what he did to set it up.

Thanks for your assistance

Not sure if this works in combination with the DMC:
You could connect this RJ45 splitter to the DMC, that way you have an additional RJ45 port to connect the MK3.

Thank You

Not every splitter works!
It needs to connect all 8 pins to the connectors.

There are also spitters that split the input to 2x 4pins.
