I recently updated the firmware on all of my devices, 3 x Multiplus2(3phase), Lynx Shunt, MPPT 450/100RS, Cerbo GX. After updating and configuring with updated Assistant I have not been able to get the Multiplus to charge the batteries while connected to the grid.
AC coupled PV(fronious) either flows to the grid or is throttled depending on zero export active on not(externally controlled, also tried with external control disabled). When the grid is removed the AC PV begins to charge the batteries unimpeded.
Previous firmware V3.0~39 new v3.5~15. Booting to the previous firmware resolves the issue.
I have been through all setting altering anything that might be remotely relevant. I have read through the changelog and haven’t seen any reason why this might occur but have tried switching the new settings added to ESS.
ESS settings currently
Optimized (without BatteryLife)
External Meter
AC output in use Yes
All system Loads
Total of all Phases
Min SOC 30%
limit Charge Off
Limit Invert Off
Grid setpoint 100W
Grid Feed-in
Ac feed Yes
DC feed Yes
Limit system Feed Off
Peak shave Off
Schedule charge Disabled
Is there an intermediary firmware I should install to bring something across or is there a way to restore everything to default on the GX and start again to correct the issue.
3.50 is Beta software. Betas can have issues.
It is also something to mention on a post.
Beta topics have a dedicated area, QA is for production software related questions.
Make sure your GX is set to “official release” and that will put you on a stable version.
On older firmware betas were called “latest” and production “current version”.
So if you don’t intend to be on a beta, best change the setting.
Thank you for the prompt reply. I was not aware the firmware was Beta. Updating via the VRM portal did not indicate this. Its on me that I didn’t notice that version was not on the change log. I do not willingly use beta/release candidate on anything I expect to work.
I now have v3.41 and will have to wait until the morning to confirm the issue is resolved but I’m confident in your diagnoses.
Should I repost this issue in the Beta area or is there a Mod that moves things around.
The topic can stay here since it is hopefully resolved. if you wanted to continue testing the issue on a beta then I would have suggested a new post.
In all likelihood this will be already known and resolved by the time 3.50 is officially released.
If you accidentally selected the beta release stream then that is what VRM would recommend.
Only betas have the ~15 etc naming conventions. Production versions are whole numbers like 3.41.
I have kind of the same issue, but cannot resolve it.
A few weeks ago I decided to update all firmware to latest version, v552 on the Multi, 3.50 (beta) on the Cerbo and 1.30 on the EVCS. After that the Multi started to stop charging once every one or two days. The Cerbo is back to 3.42 but it still happens. I have tried to install v459 on the Multi, but that didn’t work, so it’s still on v552 (product ID 2623). After turning on and off the Multi with the small switch on the bottom things behave like normal again. Any idea what I can do about it?
To be exact on the Multi, first I did the firmware update via VRM to latest version v552, then I had to reconfig it. I did with the MK3-USB and VEConfig.
Then the error statrted occuring. A few days ago I tried to write 2623459.vff to it, it updated, but it gave me 3 orange leds error, so switched back to v552 and reconfigure again.
I don’t know what you mean with a veflash, please explain, i will try that.
Found it, it was already installed in the package on my pc.
First I flashed 2623459.vff to it, but it gave the 3 leds error again.
Then I flashed 2623552.vff, that worked, and it’s reconfigured with VEconfig.
Seems strange to me that 2623459 is not working for my Multi with SN HQ2238UCWU6.
Guess I will just wait a few days to see if the problem is gone now flashing it from VEflash
