Hi all,
I have an off-grid system on an island that was installed 8 years ago (June 2018): based around Easysolar 24/3000/70-50. To my disappointment (was hoping to get more life out of it by choosing a premium product) as I switched on the system this spring, the multiplus gives an odd crackling sound, flashes low power and overload and gives up in about 8 seconds (found that at least one capacitator seems to be bleeding). Happens both on battery and generator. Bought a new multiplus-ii and will be installing it today. As I need to get it working immedialtely I will go initially for the easiest path to getting the system work → wire the new multi to use breakers in easysolar, use mppt and ccgx in easysolar etc, basically just circumvent the broken easysolar multiplus.
During my holiday I will want to get rid of the broken easysolar but ideally re-use the still working components. Have any of you done that? Is it worth the trouble or should I just rebuy everything? How easy is it to harvest eg. the built in mppt? Any other parts worth salvaging? Initially I will use the ccgx but will replace with cerbo.
