Multiplus ii RV air-conditioning amperage fluctuation

Hello all. We have a fifth wheel with some solar and a multiplies ii inverter charger.

We’re full-time in our trailer and don’t use the AC all that much however we’ve been in the south and we’ve been using it a bit more recently. We’re hooked up to 50 amp shore power everywhere we go.

We’ve been running the air-conditioning almost nonstop for the past month or so. We’ve changed locations this week and while running the air conditioning unit I can watch the amperage drop from 15 to 5 amps then jump back up again to 15.It will do this intermittently which has affected the overall temperature inside the rv. On my Victron app both inputs read 123 V so it seems like the electricity coming in is clean. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why we’re getting the amperage drop?

Are you sure that’s not just the duty cycle of the compressor? An AC compressor doesn’t run 100% of the time, it cycles on and off.

Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll look into that.

Previous to this new location, we had the air conditioner running 24 seven and we didn’t run into this intermittent drop in amperage. It’s still a good idea however that I’ll look into.
