I happened to notice that the online documentation for the Multiplus-II shows the AUX 1 & 2 inputs in an ambiguous order. (I didn’t check my paper copy.)
In the Connection Overview in the appendix, the image shows the ports in order:
K1
Ext GND Relay
AUX 2
AUX 1
T-Sense
V-Sense
The table (just below the diagram) lists them as:
- Auxiliary power supply 12 V 100 mA
- Programmable open collector ooutput (K1) 70V 100mA
- External ground relay +
- External ground relay –
- Analog/digital (AUX) input 1 +
- Analog/digital (AUX) input 1 –
- Analog/digital (AUX) input 2 +
- Analog/digital (AUX) input 2 –
- Temperature sense +
10 .Temperature sense – - Battery voltage sense +
- Battery voltage sense -
I had configured and wired up according to the table, expecting to be using AUX 2, and the sensor showed my AC-coupled PV input reading maximum (~2.5kW) regardless of solar input. That in itself is quite an interesting and unexpected open-circuit behaviour.
Moving the wires to the next position along predictably fixed things.
Just thought I’d share the inconsistency in case it trips anyone else up.
