Does anyone know how much energy the ground relay consumes in the open and closed positions? I’m assuming the relay continually consumes power in one of the two positions, and has no power draw in the other.
I’m installing one of these in an off grid cabin. AC out 1 feeds the main breaker of the load center, and AC in is fed by a portable generator. The generator doesn’t provide the ground-neutral bond.
I’m wondering if it’s more energy efficient to have the Multiplus-II provide the ground-neutral bond, or to have the bond in the load center.
The difference is probably only a few watts, but in the dead of winter a 3W load over 3 days of heavy cloud cover is 0.2kWh of energy lost simply holding a relay open/closed.
