Multiplus II charging cycle setting via Cerbo GX

We have a multiplus ii 230v on our charity yacht and have recently installed a cerbo GX to give more flexibility in settings.

I have few issues sovle

1st I was hoping to connect to multiplus ii with LAN on cerbo and ve configure3. Is this possible or do I still need the a usb interface.

2nd We want the generator to charge on a fast bulk charge to avoid the generator being on too long and when on grid for it to charge in battery safe mode to keep the battery going for longer.

3rd is there a way of turning off the ac output 2 when generator is running.

  1. The Cerbo GX and MPII connect with a standard 8P8C (Ethernet) cable, using the VE.Bus ports. No other hardware is needed. You would be able to configure the MPII using Remote VEConfigure.

  2. You may be able to do something with Node Red. You can’t directly control the charging current, but you can control an AC input limit. But both AC and DC loads will affect the input limit, so it could get complex. And of course, to do it automatically would depend on knowing whether the AC input is from generator or shore. But even without Node Red, you can control the AC input limit manually from the GUI.

  3. No. Whenever AC input is being used (MPII On or Charging), the AC power is passed through to AC Out2.

Thank you for your reply.

Missed the remote ve configure on VRM so will look at that.

I have already used node rode to limit ac input when the generator running but I want to configure the type of charging cycle for genertor vs grid.

Thank you for info on ac output 2 I will have to just get the lable printer out.
