MPPT and Dynamic ESS

Hello,

I have a system consisting of two MPPTs, a MultiPlus 2 and Pylontech batteries.

When my batteries are full and the “Feed excess DC-coupled PV power back to the grid” setting is enabled, my MPPTs produce at full power.

This means that a certain amount of power is exported, so I take the opportunity to switch on some additional equipment. This is the behaviour I am looking for.

However, when I enable the DYNAMIC ESS feature, my MPPTs behave completely differently once the batteries are full. They stop producing power.

Do you have any idea how I can make them behave as they do when DYNAMIC ESS is not enabled?

Many thanks in advance

I presume you have setup DESS to enable you to sell to grid with an appropriate export power

Well, no, I don’t sell my electricity back.

So I’m going to enable selling it back. Which mode should I choose? Green mode or Buy/sell mode?

Green mode if you do not get paid for export

Why do you want to use DESS if you do not get paid for export, Just leave it in normal ESS mode?

DESS mode lets you automatically manage charging the battery during off-peak hours, or leave it to solar power, depending on the weather forecast or my consumption habits. I think it’s great that it all happens automatically.

definitely green mode then but you need to allow sell to gid or as you have seen the MTTP’s shut down

Okay, thanks for the help. I’ll modify the parameter and see how it behaves.

Hello,

In the end, it doesn’t work. This morning, the system started exporting energy from the batteries to the grid for no apparent reason.

You can do this with ESS and Node-Red.

I finally enabled the option not to unload the

battery to the grid
