Hello,
I have a very special question for the MPII GX LCD board… If some Victron engineers see that ![]()
The GX board itself had a lot of problem (may be too much NodeRed) and reboot many time a day.
I had replace it by a cerbo GX and completely remove the GX board from the MPII. But… i lost the screen and decide to reuse it.
Hopefully, i found on a forum someone using the same I2C I/O IC to drive a LCD, a bit research later, library modification, logic analyser,… it’s work.
The LCD board is now drived by a Pico w updated by WIFI, the button drive the backlight in the same way than in the MPII.
Except for one small thing… the blue LED. Unfortunately the GX board completely disconnected form everything stay in off state and the LED stay off.
Not easy to read what append on the I2C bus..
May be i see in front of me the off command pass but without knowing it it’s a bit hard.
On the I2C, the “LCD and button” IC is on adress 0x20 and the µc “for the backlight and the LED” on 0x51.
The code i use to drive the backlight:
void BklOn() {
Wire.beginTransmission(0x51);
Wire.write(0x1D);
Wire.write(0x01);
Wire.endTransmission();
delay(10);
Wire.beginTransmission(0x51);
Wire.write(0x1A);
Wire.write(0xE0); //DATA ON 0xE0=224 MAX VAL = 224
Wire.endTransmission();
delay(10);
bkl_on = true;
}
void BklOff() {
Wire.beginTransmission(0x51);
Wire.write(0x1D);
Wire.write(0x01);
Wire.endTransmission();
delay(10);
Wire.beginTransmission(0x51);
Wire.write(0x1A);
Wire.write(0x30); //DATA OFF 0x30=48 MIN VAL = 1; 0 = PAS DE BKL
Wire.endTransmission();
delay(10);
bkl_on = false;
}
Did someone know the command to drive the LED ? I hope some Victron engineers read the forum…
EDIT : or may be add MPII GX in virtual device…
Thanks.
Cordialy,
