I have a 12 VDC/3000 Watt MP2 on my boat. Although my manual says there’s a trickle charge port for a starter battery, the diagram in appendix A of my manual and the port layout on my unit show no such trickle charge port.
Both my house and starter batteries are AGM. I would like to charge my starter battery when connected to shore power while the house batteries are also being charged. It seems like I have to invest in a DC-DC charger to do that. I’m sure someone else has come across this same issue.
Does anyone have an explanation, and wiring diagram, of how to charge my starter battery from my house battery with a DC-DC charger only when using shore power?
Thanks in Advance,
Clyde
