This is out test and development site for our off grid link towers.
The post in the foreground is a weather station sensor, it is 30m distant from tower and building to reduce effects of structure on weather sensors. Tower has 5 radio links (parabolic dishes) two switches to link radios. and two 200W solar panels. At bottom of tower large box can be seen, 150 a/h LiPo4 battery is installed there. Control box is mounted on the side of the tower. Inside seen below
The inside is a mess, we keep on updating and changing things. Latest update was removal of weather resistant CAT6 up tower and replacing with fibre, and a 28vdc run up tower to reduce ESD damage from lightning. Fibre does not of course conduct ESD and the 28vdc power is much easier to protect. MPPT 75/15 controller is visible in lower right, and smart shunt is visible just below the left of two raspberry pi boards to the left of black box upper right. White pedestal is the weather station radio link. Raspberry Pi to upper left is the weather station data consolidator, Raspberry Pi to the right is device running VenusOS, it has a relay HAT used to control battery heater and power to a camera on the tower. We are building these sites as wireless networked sites to back up out EmComms in Oklahoma. This site is a DC only site and is totally off grid.
