# Lost connection to smart meters after upgrade to venus 3.55

Hello,

after upgrading from 3.54 to 3.55 I’ve lost connection to the 2x ET112 smart meters connected through “1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter”.

I’ve debugged until I reached this point:

qt.dbus.integration: Could not disconnect “org.freedesktop.DBus” to onServiceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString) :

dbus-cgwacs selects correctly the adapter but it encounters some error.

the smart meters can be read correctly if the adapter is connected to a PC that runs the Carlo Gavazzi software tools.

I do not know what else to do, stuck for the moment.

and the Multiplus is in Passthrough mode

problem solved,

it was the usb hub causing problems.  
Connected the RS485-USB adapter directly to the RPI4 usb port and it sprung into life.

very strange as the USB hub works fine on the PC.
