Hi everyone, I need a new inverter. I’m currently using a unit from Solartronics, but unfortunately, a capacitor inside it exploded. I use it sporadically to power an 800W induction cooktop for making coffee and boiling pasta. I have it paired with a Liontron 80Ah battery. The setup has been installed for two years now and has only run for about 10 hours in total. According to Solartronics, their inverters aren’t suitable for induction cooktops. Is there a product out there from Victron, that can handle this? I have a few other realy good working produkts so i hope for.

You could consider the 1200VA Phoenix inverter. But you will need to find out what kind of current the induction top draws on start up(surge). It may be significantly higher than 800 W. Also, your 80AH battery may be a limitation depending on its maximum discharge rate. You will want to make sure it is sufficient as well.
The battery can deliver a continuous discharge current of 100 A, and 150 A briefly. Is the 80 Ah capacity a problem? I’ve now read in several forums that the Phoenix needs at least 150 Ah. Why, I have no idea. The start-up power is a maximum of 1,000 W; according to the specifications, the previous model also had 1,200 W. What matters most to me is being able to use the induction hob. I think your set up is just right on the edge of being sufficient to operate the cooktop reliably.
