Intention of use: Green home
Solar max up until today 14kWh against consumption 7-10 kWh
Expected: Use solar for home and loading battery, ad load from grid to top up battery when cheap (15 min. tarifs and max 36 hour prices known in the system). Use solar and battery when prices are high.
I can’t get it working this way, even today the system started loading the battery from grid at about 8:00 AM 1.27 kWh at the cost of € 0,24 while the soc of the battery is above 60% (system minimum at 35% and optimized minimum at 65% and electricity costs will drop to € 0,13 as from 11:00 AM.
I made changes the past days to ESS settings to optimised with battery live. Why, becaus since a few weeks the difference of soc per battery pack increased to above 20%. Because of that I started balancing the batteries for now on weekly basis and will prolongue to every 14 days.
Another behaviour that I noteced is that with sufficiant storage capacity in the battery pack available the algorithm seems to calculate on daily basis. So if today lowest price of € 0,10 and tomorrow € 0,25 today it doesn’t load additional energy in the battery for consumption the next day. It will load the next day the battery at € 0,25. How to correct this behaviour?
Since I’am a beginner any advise on how to approache the settings to realise my intended use is appreciated
at 9am that day - when the charging happened - you switched to the ESS Mode “Keep Batteries charged” - that basically disables DESS and charges your battery to 100% right away.
Other than that, I can see your system is nod discharging as expected - make sure you set the physical switch to “Inverter” rather than “Charger only”.
Last Note: You should not use BatteryLife along with DynamicEss. BatteryLife will increase your Minsoc by 5% eventually daily and that almost always goes along with the Scheduler then running short 5% usable capacity it was planing to utilize - and now has to allow from grid at undesired times.
If your system is quite new, you need to give the forecasts time to learn. The system would only buy from grid, what it assumes to need over available solar+battery within the next ~36h
So, if your battery is at a high enough soc with enough energy to cover your loads “till end of tomorrow”, it won’t buy anything, even if prices were 1 cent “today”. It does not “stockpile” energy it can’t see a forecasted need for.
Oke, than perhaps I should stop playing around and let the system find it’s balance. I somehow think I’am more clever so often tend to and correct the parameters in order to take as much advantage as possible from low energy prices.
