Limit for new posts

Not sure if this was an isolated case or not. Attempting to make a new post, I was told that posting is limited for a new user on the first day. This is okay in principle but:

  1. The system was wrong. It was the third (not first) day since registration and first post.
  2. I had made 1 post and possibly 2 replies. Even if there was no problem with the first point, this limit feels too limiting (excuse the pun). I would suggest 3 posts and 3 replies. The better if the limit is transparent before posting.
  3. The wait period of three hours seems too long. I would suggest an hour.
    After waiting for 3 hours, I didn’t have an issue .
    On a positive note, the browser kept my draft.

There are initial rate limits, but those are about rapid posts within 30 seconds to a minute of a previous one.
For 24 hours there is a limit of 3 replies per topic. This may need a change.
I can’t recall 3 hours being a particular threshold.

I have just opened this up further, I agree the defaults were a bit restrictive.
