On 2 independent installations, both with Cerbo and Firmware 3.73, I noticed the following:
- I have a low battery SoC, and I wanted to force them to be charged, so I changed the setting “Optimized without battery life” towards “Keep batteries charged.”.
- The result is that nothing happened. Charging did not start at all.
- I needed to switched back to one of the optimized modes, and switch off ‘Dynamic ESS’ option and switch back to “Keep batteries charged” to make the system start charging.
- I only made the link to this option when I encountered the 2nd system was showing the exact same behavior, first I thought something was wrong with the first system, and was digging through anything else that could be related in theory.
This is not intuitive, since the dynamic ESS option is grayed out when the “Keep batteries charged” option is enabled, so it indicates that DESS has no influence on that setting, but yesterday it was clear on 2 independent systems that there is a relation between DESS setting, the actual pricing of that moment and the “Keep batteries charged” option.
I would expect that either the “Dynamic ESS” option is not grayed out in “Keep batteries charged” mode, such that it can be disabled after switching to that mode, OR that the “Keep batteries charged” ignores dynamic ESS influence, and just starts charging regardless.
