Ip43 charger behaviour with temperature compensation

I have some one year old AGM batteries that have failed. They are charged by an IP43 50A 1:1 charger. About two months after fitting the batteries, I found the temperature sensor reading temperatures up to 100Deg C, The batteries were at around 26/27C. The battery manufacturers are saying the batteries were undercharged, all settings are as manufacturers recommendations with temperature compensation of -24mV/C. Will the IP43 still provide bulk charge with such high temperatures and will abs and float be reduced by 1.8v at 100C reading or are there limits in the charger.

What is reading the temperature?

Usually higher internal temperatures mean the charger derates its out output in amps.

Smartshunt with Victron temperature sensor on terminal post using Aux terminal on Smartshunt. It is the correct sensor, and it worked fine. I don’t know when it failed and for how long. The replacement is working fine. When I discovered the original had failed I reverted to original non temperature sensor wire.

I have no idea how long ago it was but with the last 30 cycles it should be easy to see in the ip22 history what the min and max voltage reached were.

What would matter more would have been if the target voltage and duration for absorbing would have been met.

It happened before the 40 cycle record. I am trying to establish whether the failed temperature sensor contributed to battery failure. I have found a screenshot of Smartshunt trace showing batteries taking full charge after sensor failure. I do wish Victron would time stamp the cycles, date and time are available from Smartshunt.
