Looking to install an IP22 charger (3 output) on my boat and wondering if the monitoring only applies to the charging. When not charging and plugged in, does it still take a draw from the batteries so the app can monitor usage?
Whilst the charger while not charging but connected, it should report the battery voltage. However, it won’t report “usage” in terms of load current. Fot that, you would be better off with a smart shunt.
It’s a little unclear what you mean here; if the charger is not connected to AC power, it is not powered, and no reading will be possible.
If the charger is connected to AC power, but has completed charging, the charger is still powered from AC power and the app will show the current battery voltage, but it cannot tell you your usage.
