Can Victron MultiPlus inverters function without an AC input? I need ~200 AMPs of 240/230 (does not matter) volts, 60 Hz output using parallel inverters. The inverters run off of 12 52.2V 10.24KWH batteries. So is there a way to bootstrap the inverters so they will invert off battery without ever starting with AC Input? The batteries are charged from rectifiers, so don’t need to worry about charging, just parallel inverting!
MultiPlus units function fine as inverters, there’s no requirement to connect them to AC input.
No need to bootstrap anything. MPs run fine without grid.
But personally i would rather use the RS line, either MultiRS or InverterRS. Because their parallel setup does not require the whole group to be online. You can loose/switch off one unit and the rest will carry on.
Not so with the “older” MP2. If a parallel group looses one device the whole group will turn off.
Interesting, I think that is what I am looking for. I am looking at the Inverter RS 48/6000 Smart, it says: “12 parallel units supported, 3 phase supports 4 units per phase” Can I connect 12 units together with single phase output? Or is it limited to 4? My issue with the InverterRS is it’s limited to 6kw, but I would love having no master point of failure.
Charge batteries with a rectifier? Interesting, how do you do that?? Where is power coming from?
Its certainly not easy to build a good reliable ess system with many units parallel, it sounds so easy…
Victron Microgrid system could be the anwer to easy parallel more or even many inverters, not for sale yet I guess..

Interesting, it looks like microgrid may just be repackaging of existing products along with a firmware upgrade! This is is exactly what I am looking for I need 5 20K units with microgrid frimware.
