Inserting ferrules into VE bus BMS

I am installing a VE bus BMS and seem to be hung up on inserting ferrules into the push terminals on the front of the box. I don’t seem to be able to push them into the slots. My first internet search told me to loosen the screws. There are no screws on this model. After several searches I landed on a page telling me that there are rectangular push pins below the slot. I tried pushing these with no improvement. So what is the secret to opening the slots for accepting the ferrules?

what kind of ferules and tools did you use?

did you use a crimp tool that crimps from 4 sides?

hi

I tried to answer your question but my message was rejected. I’ll try again. I used the 4 ferules that came with the BMS. I chose a hex crimper as I did not see mention of a particular shape in the documentation. I did notice that hex and square were discussed in wiring unlimited.
