Incorrect power current in VM-3PCT75

When looking to the power current of all phases, they seem too high. Power expressed in Watt look correct in all cases. Why are the power current values too high if you look to the formula: P = U * I. Adding a power factor to this formula can be done.

Case - idle

Case - full load

(I have no similar screenshot of the picture above.)

The load is the water pump (21 kW). I know that the power factor of this pump is related to induction.

I am using version 1.06. Updating to 1.11 does not solve the issue.

Hi @ErikC, as you already mentioned this is due to a low power factor. The PF values in your first screenshot are very low.

Are you running an ESS configured to keep the net power near 0W?

In this case the inverter will drive the fundamental (50/60Hz) component of the current waveform to zero and the only remaining current will be harmonics and distortion currents, which only contribute to the reactive power (driving down the power factor). So there really is almost 1A of current flow, but it doesn’t do any actual work.

I am using ESS. I do not worry about low power current when the setpoint is set to 50W.

However when the pump using a frequency power control the power current is very high. It will give a false info. I do not understand why the power consumption in Watt is still correct. I will check the power factor next time in case that the pump is running again.
