How much data is the Cerbo GX pulling?

Recently I installed a Starlink Mini into my trailer. The trailer is only used every other weekend it sits silent the rest of the time. However, I’ve noticed that Starlink is reporting about 1GB used every 4 days. There’s nothing else connected to the Internet. This seems like an excessive amount of data the Cerbo GX is sending the server. Also, I have my reporting set at every 30-minutes, which again doesn’t seem excessive.

So how much data is it supposed to be sending every time it reports?

For my offline 3 phase installations the loggging file is 800mb for 6 months of data. With minute by minute logging.
So its not much if it is only logging.
However auto firmware updates (should be disabled)
An leaving your dashboard ooen and live straming data to a remote console over vrm will certainly use quite a bit of data.

On mobile some of my sites are 500mb per week. When i mean mobile 45kVa with 6 mppts type installation so alot of data. On minute by minute logging, with daily check or two on the remote console.

Is your router also including LAN based traffic into the usage stats?
My personal system has a few devices and it does about 64MB per day, but the AP is also reporting the remote console data when it’s open. If VRM is open for extended periods data use will be higher.
If you have auto update on it will be pulling updates, on a GA version this is infrequent but if you have used a beta, those are much more regular.

With the Starlink Mini it has a built in router. There are no other devices connected to it when we’re not there.

Is auto update on and what release type is set?
Current version is also fine.

I do have auto updates on for all the Victron equipment, which as of a couple weeks ago were all up-to-date. I don’t think it’s that but rather the data packets being upload to the vrm server. Wish I knew the actual size of the file(s) every time it updates.

Update file is on the professional site under the firmware section.

Couple of hundred MB. Depends on if you are running os large or normal image.
If it fails and restarts it can add up.

Hi @SacRV

It varies enormously depending on the system and the settings, and things like firmware updates.

I have got half a dozen different Cerbo GX and Ekrano GX connected via my Unify network; here is the last month of activity. These are all active systems.

For one of them I opened up the details and you can see the difference between uploaded data (to VRM) and downloaded data (firmware updates from VRM).

These systems are all on 1 minute update intervals.

Thank you for that! I must have another culprit eating up my data usage.
