Hi, trying to install GuiMods on cerbo Gx with touch 50.
Setuphelper appears to have installed correctly, but when guimods is installed from inactive packages the version installed and stored shows as blank. See attached image.
Steps I’ve followed;
format usb drive to FAT
downloaded Venus-data.tgz
transfered to usb (left compressed)
inserted into 1st usb port (from outside of cerbo)
Try un-installing it from the Active packages menu. Once done, try clicking on the GUIMods in inactive packages and you should be able to download it and install it from that menu.
Note, GuiMods is NOT included in the venus-data.tgz file. It only contains SetupHelper. You are not seeing a “Stored” version number for GuiMods because it does not yet exist on your system. It must be downloaded from GitHub or transferred to the system via a USB flash drive.
If you have an internet connection, you should be seeing version numbers in the GitHub column. Since you are not, I suspect there is something preventing Cerbo from getting to GitHub. It is also possible you have automatic downloads turned off. Package Manager erases GitHub version numbers after a while if downloads are not enabled. However entering the package edit menu by tapping on the entry in the Active packages list will attempt to get the version number again. GitHub user and branch/tag must be valid also. These should fill in automatically: kwindrem, latest
To install packages like GuiMods from a USB memory stick, dDownload the .tgz file from GitHub to a computer for the version you wish to install and copy that to a flash drive. DO NOT unzip or uncompress the file. Safari behavior on Mac OS is to do the unzip so you need to disable that option in Safari’s general preferences. Then, install the USB memory stick in the GX device and Package Manager should transfer the package.
