Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m unable to find any place in GUI-V2 where the AC in (or out) voltage is visible except for digging inside the debug menu. This is pretty important information, especially for mobile/RV systems that may be hooked up to power of an unknown quality.
If I’m not missing something obvious, can we get this added?
I don’t get AC voltages on the inverter details page on mine, neither the first page, nor the slightly more detailed page you get if you touch the “Product page” button.
The screen shots below are inverting with no AC input, but even when plugged in I get no additional fields.
Keep in mind (as others have stated above) that the stock GUI v1 overview didn’t show voltages either. Some of the users have gotten used to GuiMods which fills the page with numbers and has received criticism for attempting to display too much information. To this I must agree.
The drill-down pages bring the critical information closer to the top but it still may not be enough. I remember while camping one day I heard the AC input relay open and wondered why. A quick check of the GuiMods overview page revealed the AC input voltage was intermittently dropping to under 100 volts!!!
Shore power (or even unstable grid) voltage is an important value that should be displayed on the overview and made obvious if it falls out of tolerance. It is not appropriate to hide the AC input tile or show “disconnected”. USERS of the system need to know why and may not know how to drill down for more information.
What I am recommending is that critical parameters for things like AC input are displayed on gauges so a casual user can tell at a glance when they are close to a grid failure. Frequency also, maybe not for a grid in the US but certainly on generator. I don’t know but some countries may have frequency problems with their grid.
veconfig shows the reasons the AC input has been rejected. This needs to be on the GX device brief and overview page! Too many people have asked why their system won’t connect to the grid/shore power/generator. “Grid rejected: voltage out of range” etc.
You’re absolutely correct, Kevin. I had forgotten that it was your guimods package that had been giving me AC voltages, but to be honest I also struggle to think of a reason it wasn’t visible in stock form all the time. It’s such a vital piece of information.
All that said, I’m still confused as to why @nickdb has AC voltages on his drill down on gui-v2 but I do not.
Hmm, it’s starting to seem like something may be wrong with my system specifically, since everyone else so far has had AC voltage information available on drill down. I’m not sure where to start troubleshooting this one.
