I started installing a Victron system in my RV about six months ago. I installed the Lynxsys, the SmartShunt, the Cerbo GX, and then a few weeks later installed the GlobalLink 520.
At the time, I thought everything was working properly. However, I’m now questioning whether I actually had the GlobalLink 520 providing the cellular internet connection, or whether my cell phone was connected to the internet every time I was in the RV without me realizing it.
My understanding was that the GlobalLink 520 would provide the cellular connection so that the Cerbo GX could communicate with the VRM Portal when I was away from Wi-Fi. That seemed to be working previously, but I’m having a problem with it now.
I haven’t been in the RV for a couple of months. I’m back now and was getting ready to install the multiplus. Before doing that, I wanted to verify the system and get some wattage and other readings, so I disconnected the shore power and was using just the inverter.
The problem is that the GlobalLink 520 no longer appears to be providing a cellular connection. When I reboot it, the LED blinks blue and then changes to blinking yellow. However, it does not appear to be seeing or communicating with my Cerbo GX through the VE.Direct cable. I thought I used to see the globallink on the devices screen of the cerbo, but now I dont.
I’m trying to determine whether I have something configured incorrectly, whether the GlobalLink 520 is supposed to provide the cellular internet connection in the way I thought it did, or whether there is an issue with the connection between the GlobalLink 520 and the Cerbo GX.
Could you please help me understand what I should be checking and how I can get the GlobalLink 520 communicating with the Cerbo GX and the VRM Portal again?
