Hello and i am a newer follower interested in the Victron products. I have a 2022 GD 17MKE RV Travel Trailer and the battery monitor went dead. I am looking to upgrade and improve my battery charging capabilities. I have a 165 solar panel, Lithium 100ma battery and a Furrian 25MPPT solar charge controller. Any advice would be appreciated as Technical support is impossible to reach unless a purchase is made. (How do I know what to purchase if I can’t communicate with them?)
The Victron sales model is not aimed at direct to DIY but through their distribution network with help being provided by the distributors. However, items can often be found cheaper from resellers who do not provide any support, a good avenue for knowledgeable DIYers.
Your post has little detail of what you are after. Have a look at the SmartShunt or the BMV-712 for battery monitoring, 75/15 SmartSolar MPPT for 165W and if you are interested in alternator charging, the Orion DC to DC charger range.
Actually your response is dead on. The monitor I have is obsolete ( pathetic for being a 2022). Most monitors come with a shunt and I was concerned whether I should have a different controller as well. Thank you. I just wish it was easier to chart out a happy family, meaning a matching panel, monitor, charger and battery showing the capacity of each to work in harmony. Thanks again.
