Export Configuration Multiplus 2

Hi all. I have recently fitted a victron multiplus 2 system. Until now, I have been running it effectively as an off grid system with grid support to charge the batteries when required. Having statified the grid for export and recieved confirmation to do so, I now wish to setup the system to export when my battery is above say 50% but allow the system to top up during off hours if required ( 23;30 to 5:30 ). What parameters/configuration changes do I now now need to program the multiplus system configuration to achieve this please?

System setup:-

Multiplus 2 140/10000/140-100/100

MPPT 450/200

Lynx shunt

Lynx distributer

Cerbo GX

16kw Battery at present

& ET112 grid meter

Many thanks Mark.

Hi Mark,

you have to configure a ESS System according to the specifications for your country

Thank you DirkW. I’m in the UK. Have found this in the configuration:-

I’m interested where/how to configure SOC setting to allow exporting over say 50% of battery and shedule charging if required overnight if the battery drops below that ? I have scoured the internet and understand I would need to setup some ‘assistants’ to achieve this ?

Many thanks again Mark

You could you find the possible ESS settings at the cerbo after you in installed the ESS assistant.

@Mark4 First thoughts, update the MP firmware to the latest and also other devices. This can be done via VRM under device list > Remote VEConfigure. (G98 and G99 are now separate selectable entries). As @DirkW pointed out you have to install the ESS assistant and configure it on the MP before continuing with additional settings available on the Cerbo under system setup>ESS if you access it via remote console. All this is well documented already. You can set up a charging schedule in ESS, but there is no way to set up a discharging schedule as you wish. DESS and node-red offer some alternatives to consider and you will find this question has been responded to if you search the forum.

Hi, many thanks for the advice…. Haven’t loaded any ‘assistants’ at the moment:-

I guess until I do load one ( with the configure sorftware), I won’t see or be able to configure any ? Once there is one there, I guess this will allow me to do so ?

Many thanks again Mark

Yes, the ESS assistant on the MP is a requirement for a self consumption setup and to allow the system to feed into the ACIN side.

Good afternoon,

I succesfully change the grid code standard and added the ess assistant. I did this under version 508 firmware.

I subsqently updated the firmware as suggested from 508 to 558. Unfortunately, having done this the grid setting and ess have been disabled ? I have tried changing the settings and other setting but found myself unable to do so with entering password ( grid password ? ) which I don’t have. Any suggestions ?? (Help ??). All the best Mark
