EVCS draining batteries?

If an EVCS loses Wifi connection to its network which seems a common issue - does it stop charging or just wreck the house batteries?

Are you talking about a Victron EV charger or different brand? Can’t speak for the Victron setup as I’ve never played with that. But as for any other EV charger as long as it’s wired before the Multiplus and any CT on that Victron system so that the Multiplus is blind to the charger. Hope that helps

I doubt it. In the EVCS menus you can set a minimum house battery SoC, but if there is a loss of comms with the GX device and if the EVCS continues charging, there is also a minimum SoC setting for the house batteries in the GX which will be respected. This should be set to a level where battery damage does not occur.

btw, my EVCS does not fall off the WiFi. It is solid as a rock. If your EVCS does have WiFi problems, then probably best to get it sorted. Instability is not inevitable.
