I tried to set this up using 3 x 10kva Multiplus 11 units c/w CT’s and external relay( neutral to earth) driven by the 24v relay and an external contactor driven by the relay on the Multiplus master (connected to NO and Com) The firmware was the S99 version and I could NOT get it to work
Is vXXX.S99 also shown for the MultiPlus when you select the device list option in VRM and then choose firmware update?
Then the current firmware is retrieved from your devices.
Have you also connected L1, L2 and L3 AC IN from the consumer unit (via a 6 A 4-pole circuit breaker)?
Yes I used that firmware and L1 and L2 and L3 were connected to the incoming utility. I kept measuring the continuity on the aux relay of the master annd it never closed
I am almost certain that I have done something wrong
It is not the aux relay that is used for the bond it is Ext GND Relay
I am talking about the relay that controls the external contactor. Yes the Ground/neutral relay is controlled by the 24 volt relay through a 24v automotive relay
So your ets is not closing to a grid or generator source? Sorry it’s not immediately clear that was the relay you were referring to as the 24v was mentioned specifically
How are they grouped in programming?
In the external transfer they are grouped. Masters in group 1 and slaves in group 2. So I’m not referring to phase set up, but the ETS group.
Although you don’t seem to have any slaves
Did you use the S99 firmware? That’s what you indicate, and I assume it worked too.
You do need to use the Europe grid code if you live in the Netherlands.
Yes I used the S99 firmware and the installation is in Zambia so I used the “not compliant to any grid code” setting
No slaves, one unit per phase
Has the ESS assistant been added to all three units?
Yes it was added and the setting was put to “keep batteries charged” because I wanted the external contactor to engage to have grid connected
How did you connect the external CT measuring coils?
These were connected, one per phase on the incoming line from grid and they were connected to the CT inputs on each inverter between EXT and COM after removing the small jumper cable that comes with the unit bridging INT and COM
Double checked that the CT’s were pointing in the right direction
Remember, N and PE must only be bonded in island mode.
Could there possibly be overlapping settings or assistants here?? What does your wiring look like??
Photos??
I thought about the N and E bonding issue so I separated the incoming N from the Load N and passed the incoming neutral through a contactor running in parallel with the main contactor (initially all neutrals were on a common busbar and I thought that might be the problem, but it wasnt). The relay that bonds output N and Earth was working as it was controlled by a help relay running from the 24 relay on the master. A couple of times it engaged, so am happy that that part was OK. I do welcome any and all comments though as I still know that I have done something wrong
Have you ever looked at the ve.bus monitor via ve.configure as well?
Please post clear, informative photos of the installation and the connections.
