I am using an Android tablet as a headless display for my Cerbo GX . I have checked for the newest beta release updates but it says no newer versiosn. I have “Auto update” disabled in the settings but with firmware V3.60~49, the error message “Error while checking for firmware updates” appears every time the tablet is opened.
Are there plans for a newer beta version for Android tablets?
But that has nothing to do with your tablet, the firmware is running on the GX device.
Check the internet connection of your GX device.
Set auto update to “check only”.
I have the Cerbo set up to create AP. It has no internet connection. The tablet is connected to the Cerbo’s AP and I have “check for updates” disabled. Upon waking the tablet, it connects to the Gui but seems to ignore that check for updates is disabled. The error message “Error while checking for firmware updates” appears in a blue box at the bottom of the screen for about 5 seconds then disappears. My assumption would be that this message should not be displayed having check for updates disabled
I understand that an internet connection is required for updates. What I am saying is that I have “Check for automatic updates” set to DISABLED. When I wake up/turn on the tablet and it connects to the Cerbo, it still want’s to check for updates and generates an error on the screen.
Since you are running beta firmware, ois this a problem just with V3.60~49 and it did not give that error. If it is beta version only then it should be reported in the venus os beta section.
