Hello everyone,

I’m seeking your help after a solar generation issue brought my installation to a standstill.

 **System configuration:**

- **Charge controllers:** 3 x SmartSolar MPPT 450/100
- **Battery bank:** Pylontech batteries managed by an **LV-Hub**
- **Communication:** BMS / CAN data cable connected to the GX system

 **The problem:**

My three MPPT 450/100 chargers are showing error **#67 - No BMS** (or _BMS connection lost_). As a result, the charge controllers are stopping charging as a safety precaution, and solar generation has come to a complete halt.

Even though it is plugged together with the cable, the hub is not communicating with the system.

Does the pylontec appear in the device list or does it say device disconnected?

Are the 450 mppts connected with ve direct or ve can?

Thanks LX! I checked the list of devices in the app:

1. **Pylontech status:** The battery monitor (Pylontech BMS) appears in red and shows **“Last seen 3 days ago”**. So communication with the BMS has been interrupted for 3 days.

2. **MPPT connection:** All 3 MPPT 450/100 units are connected via **VE.Can** and are communicating properly with the GX (last seen 3 minutes ago).

Since the LV-Hub is switched on, but communication has been down for 3 days, do you think this is a problem with the BMS/CAN cable (between the LV-Hub and Cerbo GX), or an incorrect CAN configuration/port on the GX? It’s been working fine for almost 7 years.

I doubt it will be configuration since it is not a new installation.

Restoration of communication depends on the cables used. but check for corrosion or rodent damage, that would be my best guess after a period of time has passed.

Sometimes the hub needs s a restart.

Thanks, LX, your theory makes a lot of sense! Since the installation had been working perfectly until now, a physical cable fault or a hub lock-up is indeed the most likely explanation.

I’ll carry out these checks on site:

Completely reboot the LV-Hub.

Inspect the BMS/CAN cable from end to end (physical condition, corrosion on the RJ45 connectors, signs of rodent damage).

Test with another BMS cable if necessary.

I’ll let you know the results as soon as these checks have been completed.
