It’s a little complicated due to the way we need to prevent the USB GPS to get registered on the d-bus _as gps device_. That is needed to capture the raw GPS data directly from the serial device. At the moment it requires root access after every f/w update to remove the GPS from the d-bus _or_ physical removal of the gps during update / reboot.

Someting I am missing is how you deal with a catamaran with two motors where both motors could even be in different drive states (e.g. during maneuvering in the harbour - one in Forward one in Reverse)  
maybe you have another F-N-R below (both) Wattage display (on the right side of the boat panel)…..
