I have one small multiplus 24/800 with a small 4 kwh lifepo4 homebattery with DESS.
I want to expand with a victron multiplus 4k5 for bigger loads with a seperate 16 kwh battery.
To make the system more energy efficient i would like to put the 4k5 in an energy saving mode (or off) for the hours i have a small load (over the night i use 120W).
Not only less idle usage but also the increase of RTE for managing small loads with the small inverter could save me a substantial amount of energy
Checking my data i think i have between 12 and 16 hours of the day where my 4kwh battery can handle the loads.
I think the Search Mode is not available for ESS assistant inverters but is there another way i can lower my idle use of the 4k5 multiplus?
@Ardano AES is available on systems with an ESS assistant installed. The 5kVA MP-II on paper would offer better AES than the 4k5, but best you spend a bit of time with the numbers as there are battery roundtrip efficiency, charger output, inverter efficiency etc that all have to be considered in the end or you may well be chasing a false sense of economy.
I’ve lookup up some posts about linking multiple multiplus inverters (in same vrm environment) and it looks like different models aren’t really meant to work together.
I think im going to return the small inverter and just stick to the 48/4k5.
if (and only if) the 12/800 would have a more efficient RTE at low currents i would maybe save 80 euro a year max.
