Has anyone tried ? - are the firmware and device tree settings available to enable in 3.7x/6.12 kernel ?
I am running Venus 3.71 on a beaglebone black ( same board as cerbo gx ) It has 2 - 200MHZ real time processors AM335x built into the base board that run at 200MHz. I would love to keep the venus os and my integrations work for external mqtt → dbus → VRM. But, a project to directly read my CT’s and set a SSR Relay is blocked because venus OS did not include the firmware or device tree mappings to “see” the pru’s. Sadly blocking some very interesting enhancements that are a good fit for an energy management controller. That is the basis of my question, to activate the microsecond resolution features and make some killer savings and utilities using the same core os ( with some controlled additions in /data just like the mqtt device add-on)
I will probably drop back to the debian OS from beaglebone.org that has the pru access available, or or pico 2 ?? or … But what a shame to add more “junk” to the path when the PRU’s are faster and just sitting there unused ….
So anyone who may have exposure to using the BBB PRU’s advice would be appreciated …
