Elgris meter compatibility issue - does not connect 3.50-37,-38,-39

Dear all, USB connection does not work with EM540 after update.
v3,50-36 works fine also when I go back after update to 3.50-37, -38 &-39!

Regards Peter

I would like to add that this is the Elgris EM540 emulation without frequency transmission. Could this be the reason? As I said, it worked without any problems before!

Hi, I don’t know what Elgris usb emulation is.

We have automatic testing on real EM540 meters, and all works well.

What we’ve recently added is to read frequency from the meter, perhaps what you’re referring to is a third party mod and that doesn’t support it?

Please contact the people behind that mod

FYI:Thanks for the feedback!
Elgris is a SmartMeter with different smart meter emulations! See picture.
Maybe the thread will help someone who also uses the emulation! As far as I know, the frequency is not transmitted with the emulation !

To avoid further issues, I have just ordered an original EM540.
Best regards
Peter

Great, thanks for clearing that up!

@mpvader : only for your information
Elgris SM LAN 100A is a good product and is a multi protocol smart meter. It can use in parallel two or more different protocols like for example SolarEdge, SMA, Victron (EM540 and EM24) an other.:

@Pila01: nevertheless: perhaps you give this issue also to elgris, that they can check it from their side. I know this product from my investigation from the past, but don’t own or use it.

thank you @Dirk_S ; I’ve checked and have sent them an email.

They seem to be a Dutch company even - :+1:

Yes, Dirk is right! The SmartMeter is a really good device and I have been, or still am, completely satisfied with it.
I have also reported this issue to Mr. Veenendaal. I hope he finds a quick solution. Regards Peter

Dear all, issue was fixed by Elgris Firmware Update SM1.16.70.
EM540 is now running well. See image!
Many thanks to Matthijs Vader and Elwin Veenendaal (Elgris).

Good morning. Thats great!

Yes, I can confirm, we use Elgris SmartMeter for all of our project now.
They work great and their support is very quick as well!

Plus, they can do more than other meters (emulate different devices, MQTT, Shelly etc) and at the same time are priced lower than other gridmeters.
