Hi All!
Does DESS work offline, without internet connection?
(for example in case internet down for 2+ days)
Thanks in advance!
Hi All!

Unlikely since the main logic runs in the cloud from VRM.
Thank you Nick, possible you know, what happens with Mutli RS system if DESS on, and internet goes down - DESS automatically switching off and standard ESS start working with preset settings ( like minimum and scheduled battery SoC periods, etc. ). ?
VRM won’t be receiving any telemetry it needs from the site and it won’t be able to send new schedules.
The system will keep working but will be incapable of updating its parameters/schedules until it is back online.
DESS will cache 48 Schedule Windows (so 12h) locally. It’ll then go through these cached windows, when internet-connectivity is lost.
After that, it will switch to regular ESS-Mode, waiting for new schedules to arrive.
So the best way to be prepared for internet down 2days+ is
at first setup regular ESS for season conditions (minimum SoC and/or schedule SoC periods)
after that switch on DESS (keep in mind - minimum SoC from DESS will be transferred to regular ESS)
Am I right understood?
Almost - DESS will never change your minimum Soc value - so nothing to keep in mind on that ![]()
I mean this
User can adjust value minimum SoC, in this case it is 9%, and that setting (9%) in case internet connection lost for 13 hours wil be “transferred” to regular ESS, and only scheduled SoC periods can change SoC value for adjusted time?
The minimum soc is a basic ESS setting, not DESS specific.
DESS will just obey it, when creating schedules.
Thx!
