My setup on a boat is an EasyPlus charger/converter, plus charging the lithium bank from three potential sources: engine alternator, PVs and a Watt&Sea hydrogenerator. All from Victron except the last one. This is installed with a SmartsShunt measuring the load current.
Without any contribution from the Watt&Sea (actually thru the SmartShunt) all seems fine
When adding the Watt&Sea, the DC load does no longer make sense.
I’ve already reversed the load measurement of the SmartShunt but that was not the solution.
Correct, the shunt is only measuring the Watt&Sea.
During sailing the EasyPlus is obviously not charging (no shore power connected) and the engine is not running, so no charge from the alternator (connected thru a Orion XS to the lithium bank).
The DC tile current is calculated by difference from all known (measured) currents. Previously a few types of DC Energy Meter were not properly added to the DC tile current calculation. You could try changing the type of charger in the SmartShunt to see if it can get counted properly, perhaps there is something like generic charger. I know this has been improved but there may still be errors.
