Hello

Why is there no option in the Victron product portfolio to charge my electric car using DC directly from the battery?

I understand power converting 48V to 400V would actually be enough to charge the car? So there must be a good reason why such a product does not exist?

I have 30 kWh of home battery, 3xMultiplus II with EVCS. Part of my solar panels are charging the battery using Victron battery charger. Other part is connected to inverter.

I am just wondering why nobody seems to be offering the DC home car charging path (affordably). Maybe it’s cost, maybe there’s a good technical reason…?

Usually the vehicle has its own charger built into it.

Its also more efficient to do it the way it is already being done.
Converting 48vdc to 400vdc is much more inefficient then 230/380vac to 400vdc
