Could a smartshunt cut power when fitted in a vehicle?

I have just had a smartshunt fitted to my Morgan car, since I have had it fitted I have had several occurrences of the engine cutting out, bringing the car to a standstill. The car will (so far) restart with no issues. I obviously need to try and debug this and the smartshunt, being the most recent change is one of the possible culprits. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

No it should not, are the bolts torqued correctly and the negative cables connected correctly

Thanks for the fast reply, negative cables are fitted correctly, The shunt was fitted by my Garage so cannot comment on the Torque settings but the bolt are not loose. I know nothing about smartshunts but my concern is could the smartshunt actually interrupt power, either by software fault or manufacturing flaw?
?

Its unlikely and i have not heard of this happening, anyone else have any problems like this?

Give the connections a tug incase the crimps are not making good connection but be careful.

It’s not technically possible for the SmartShunt to interrupt power, no. Most likely a loose connection or poor crimp in the installation, or something else was loosened or changed by the shop that did the install.

Thanks Dave / Justin all connections look and feel solid and well made. I obviously need to look somewhere else for the issue.
