Connecting Batteries to BMS

I am installing 2 new Victron LiFePo4 100Ah NG batteries on my boat and getting conflicting advice on how to wire the batteries to the Lynx NG BMS. As this is a marine install the Class T fuses are required. I would be interested in knowing if one option is better than the other.

Thanks

Tim

both are good but option 1 is better.
option 2: the common positive battery cable will need to handle the full current, so needs to be of larger size than the 2 smaller cables in option 1.
option1: size cables according to fuse rating.
option 2 : common cables need to be sized at 2x fuse rating. batteries will not share current equally. to get better sharing, common + cable needs to go directly to top fuse, link cable between fuses needs to be equal in length and size to the cable linking the 2 negative battery terminals.

Completely agree with Mike, no1 is best and is how I wired my 2 NG batteries to the BMS because I did not have room for the Class T power in.

@tim22
Did you consider the Lynx Class-T Power In?
It’s muh cleaner…

Hi Bjorn

I did look at the power in but I don’t have space for it. I’m installing on a 31 foot sail boat and still haven’t figured out how to fit in the BMS as space is very limited.
