Configure max ac load from grid to load batteries

Hi,

We have a capacity tariff (Belgium regulation) on the AC load taken from the grid. I wonder if it is possible to limit only the ac load when the batteries are charged from the grid and not when e.g. the batteries are discharged to the grid or when the house consumption is temporary higher (e.g. when batteries are at minimum soc level)?

I would like to limit the load to 2.5 kwh when charging the batteries from the grid. There should not be any limits when the batteries are discharged to the grid or charged from the PV panels. There should in the ideal situation also no limit with direct consumption from the grid.

I currently limit the max grid current limit on the Multiplus-II to 12A but I suppose this will also limit the current delivered to the grid.

FYI Currently I am using DESS in green mode.

Anybody an idea if this configuration is possible?

Kind regards,

Bart

Update: Just find out that when the grid limit (12 A) is reached on higher loads, the batteries are used to supply the requested extra load even when this causes the batteries going under the minimum SOC level (40% in my case). The batteries are charged till SOC level again (when load is under the grid limit).

So, also in this case it would be nice that I could only limit the grid current when batteries are charged and not when there is a higher load requested.

You can limit the AC power and the DC charge current..

See DVCC, Limit charge current.

Hi DirkW,

Thanks for the reply.

When reducing the DC current on the batteries, also the current from my AC coupled solar panels to the batteries will be reduced and redirected to the grid which I also want to avoid.

With DC coupled solar panels this could work I think. In that case the DC current limit is ignored according to the manual.
