Clarification on solar charging for MultiPlus-II

Screen panel was showing 56% - after 3 hours travelling in sunshine - Panel dropped to 49%

I had the inverter on “inverter on” and not “charging only” - does this mean it does not charge unless you switch to “charger only” ??

What PV regulators do you have?

When you drive, your Li battery can power the vehicle backwards.

The mp could charge if it sees a supply (eg. HV PV inverter on out 1) and is therefore programmed.

The mp is not a PV inverter itself, it is a combination unit (inverter, charger).

If you have a multi RS, that is an other animal

@Mary123 The inverter’s charger is used for charging batteries from AC sources and not solar. In the on position, it will continue to inverter and consume some power. If there are loads connected to it those will also draw some power. In the charger only mode the inverter will be off. Have you considered a dc-dc charger from the alternator to charge the batteries while driving?

Thanks EJ have worked out my rookie error was leaving the inverter on the whole time and not just activating when needed and then back to charging. Yes I have a dc-dc charger and now a little further understanding. Thanks for your help.
