Hi all, I have a question regarding charging three batteries on the boat. There is outboard engine with alternator as a mqin source, battery switch 0-1-2-both, two batteries (dual marine, starting/leisure type) and third leisure for trolling motor. Is it okay to set up charging of one starting/leisure battery with cyrix-ct and connected to leisure battery? So switch 1 to batt 1, cyrix bat 1 and batt 2 to leisure, same for switch 2 batt 2 cyrix bat1 and batt 2 cyrix to leisure? Or any other recommendations? Thanks

Can you use a Cyrix-ct to distribute a single charge source to other battery banks? Yes, but the batteries need to be of the same chemistry (all lead acid for example) and you need to kepp in mind that the Cyrix not only works when the charge is coming from an AC-Source. It will also close when the engine is running and the alternator is charging the starter battery. Maybe thats what you want though.
Batteries are the same type, lead-acid. So when main switch is on selector 1, it will use battery no. 1 and connected to cyrix bat1 terminal, therefore bat2 terminal from cyrix will go to trolling motor battery. When selector is on 2, it will use battery no. 2 which is connected to bat1 terminal of cyrix and bat2 terminal from cyrix is connected to trolling motor battery. When selector switch is on both, it will connect all three batteries in parallel and charge them. Question is if this is okay because if for exp. switch is on 1 and batt1 is in use, will the leisure battery charge battery no. 2? Battery no. 1 and battery no. 2 have each cyrix
Thanks. That is the setup what I’m looking to make, only I will see maybe to put additional battery switch for trolling motor (pos and neg) to completely isolate trolling motor when it is running so the interference will not affect echo sonder if you got me
