Thought I’d share this as it’s a bit unusual.
Brief was to build a portable charging system for use by a specialist film crew, it would be used in their own vehicles but also in others that they get supplied with on some shoots.
System includes;
- Orion XS
- BlueSmart 12/30 Charger
- SmartShunt 300
- All power connections are via colour coded Anderson connectors
- Comprehensive user documentation
3 units built so far plus other devices using Orion XS units in power supply mode to provide a stable voltage to up to 12 cameras concurrently.
If you are wondering why not just build the system direct into their vehicles the answer is that there is a zero tolerance for failure, having the units portable means that if something goes wrong, or if there are concerns that something isn’t right they can just swap the whole system in a few seconds. They always have two cases whenever they are filming. And of course they can also use them in other vehicles too.
