Can't login as root to Cerbo V3.55

Hi, new Victron installation on my boat and having responsiveness issues with Cerbo being slow, hangs, etc. Use to be a UNIX admin in a previous life so want to login as root and look at some of the system log files. Followed the instructions Venus OS: Root Access and all looks good but can’t get in with Putty or SSH. Tried a reboot of the Cerbo no love, looking for suggestions…

The Putty error is a weird one, maybe your Putty is too old or too new ?
Have you set a root password in the GUI ?

Yes to root password and I’ve been using Putty for YEARS and never had a problem like this one. IDK what version I’m on but I’ll check…

Bravo Bart was right! While I have been using Putty for years I have not updated Putty in years. I was using Version .70 and after upgrading to the latest .83 I can now login as root to my Cerbo! THANKS Bart
