Just wondering if anyone knows the CAN PGN for the available (rather than the installed) capacity of the battery?
It’s PGN 127506.
But “available” it’s, more or less, “remaining capacity” on that PGN…
Be careful because there are additional info on that PGN, not only remaining capacity.
It turns out to be byte 2&3 in 0x35f (863). This also has the firmware version in byte1.
I suspect that there are other undocumented headers that do some very interesting things…
I also found:
CAN-bus BMS Protocol
CONFIDENTIAL
This document is intended for manufacturers of Managed Batteries: batteries with a CAN-bus
this document on line. Helps a lot.
BTW available capacity is the nominal capacity of the battery modules on line, rather than the remaining capacity in terms of %SOC.
Hi @MikeD
Sorry, I believed that you’ve asked for a PGN (Parameter Group Number) which is a characteristic to NMEA2000…
It seems that you’ve looked for the CAN ID for that info…
Do you have a link for that document? Thanks in advance!
I’m certain that this document should not be floating around!!
Thank you @MikeD !
maybe you need to try ecosia as a search engine, rather than google!!
