Can I program AC-OUT-2 to turn off while driving?

I have a new Multiplus-II 24/3000/70-32 system in my self built 2018 907 Sprinter campervan.

My induction cooktop is not shielded and according to Dutch regulations it needs to be turned off while driving. This is to prevent interference with other devices like the pacemaker of the person in the car next to me at the traffic light. Sounds ridiculous, but rules are rules…
Not that I would ever use it while driving . Shielded induction cooktops are hard to find and very expensive.

My Multiplus-II is now set up to turn off when the engine runs using vibration detection on the engine. It could have been done with de D+ signal, but my Sprinter doesn’t have a D+ terminal installed.

But now I can’t charge my e-bikes while driving!

I have seen examples of AC-OUT-2 programmed to dump solar power to a water boiler when the battery is almost full, but can it be configured to turn off when the engine runs?

Thanks,
Harmen

You can program a switch onto the temp or aux sensor that switches off ac2 out. (Would need to be programmed)

@Harmtev The ACOUT2 will automatically disconnect when you disconnect shore ACIN so unless I am missing something, wire only the induction hob to ACOUT2 and it will be disconnected when you disconnect ACIN and driving. The ACOUT1 can continue to power the charger when you drive. Do you only use the induction hob when hooked up to shore? If no, then you just have to have a mechanism to turn ACOUT2 on when required.

Hi LX, thanks for the reply, good to know it is possible! I’m new to Victron programming and still a bit confused about the different ways to do this. But I’m a quick learner. What approach would you use? Do I need to get the dongel?

Hi ejrossouw, thanks for your reply.

I plan to travel off-grid as much as possible. I have 600W panels on the roof of my van, a 400W portable panel and a 24v 200AH battery. And the Orion XS 1400. So I don’t expect I’ll need shore power very often.

You do need to program the inverter, it is possible over the VRM though with ve config and a laptop.

Yes there are manya ways to do this.

I personally prefer having the mk3 to usb adapter. Not everyone wants to buy one though. So that is entirely up to you.

But if it is left on its default programming, ac2 out is off when there is no shore power.
