Can a MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-95 120V with compatibility ID 2723 be paralleled with current producti

I have a MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-95 120V, part number PMP482505110, bought new from a US dealer in August 2023. VRM reports firmware 2723508, so the first four digits make it type 2723.

I want to buy a second unit and run the pair in parallel at 120V. I’ve read the VE.Bus error code documentation on Error 25 and understand that all units must share the same four-digit compatibility ID, and that firmware updates only change the last three digits.

What I can’t determine before buying:

  1. What compatibility ID is currently shipping on new PMP482505110 units? I’ve seen it stated in an earlier thread here that this model should be 2729 and that only very early units are 2723. If that’s right, my unit is on the wrong side of a hardware change.

  2. Is there any path at all to running a 2723 alongside a 2729, or is that categorically impossible?

  3. Does the UL 1741 variant, PMP482505120, share a compatibility ID with PMP482505110, or is it a separate type?

  4. If no 2723 units remain in the channel, what’s the recommended route — source old stock through a dealer, or replace both with a matched pair?

Dealers I’ve spoken to so far can’t tell me the compatibility ID of stock they haven’t unboxed, so I’d rather establish the answer here before spending the money.

Looking at the information on hand, there have been revisions to the hardware, possibly twice, since you purchased it in 2023.
It does not appear that a new model will be compatible for parallel use with the existing Multiplus.
